A gorgeous summer afternoon…the humidity has gone away (at least for now) and the windows are opened so that I can hear the birds and the cicadas instead of the air conditioning and these purple and blue hydrangea make me think of a cottage by the sea where there is nothing to do but take long walks (or a nap) and read and write  (a little book about hydrangeas?  how you have to let them dry on the bush a little first if you want them dried later so that you can remember this summer afternoon when you see them in a bowl on your coffee table)…before it all disappears.
